diff'rent strokes

You know, it would be a terrible place if everyone in the world had the same tastes. Bland, with no interesting conversations based on different points of view. And from a music point of view, it would be near impossible to ever get tickets for the shows you want to see simply because everyone else wants them too.

And sometimes, it's those differences between yout tastes and a friend's that really make the friendship. Mac and I have similar tastes but we don't always agree. Nonetheless, those differences add to our dynamic as a couple, and we are always willing to give the other's tastes a try - we spent Saturday at Nurse with Wound, industrial electronica which is far more to his tastes than mine but I quite enjoyed it, even if I would never want to put it on at home.

Boadwee and I are oftentimes even more like chalk and cheese, but that's fine, it doesn't affect our love for each other. He may find my tastes contrary to his and that's fine. He can keep his Libertines/Babyshambles/Dirty Pretty Things and his Kaiser Chiefs, I won't be fighting him for tickets, and his dismissal of such things like Bruce Springsteen, Bjork and Cold War Kids means all the more chance at seeing them for me. Doesn't mean either of us is right or wrong.

Just remember, whoever is driving controls the car cd player!
