diff'rent strokes

You know, it would be a terrible place if everyone in the world had the same tastes. Bland, with no interesting conversations based on different points of view. And from a music point of view, it would be near impossible to ever get tickets for the shows you want to see simply because everyone else wants them too.

And sometimes, it's those differences between yout tastes and a friend's that really make the friendship. Mac and I have similar tastes but we don't always agree. Nonetheless, those differences add to our dynamic as a couple, and we are always willing to give the other's tastes a try - we spent Saturday at Nurse with Wound, industrial electronica which is far more to his tastes than mine but I quite enjoyed it, even if I would never want to put it on at home.

Boadwee and I are oftentimes even more like chalk and cheese, but that's fine, it doesn't affect our love for each other. He may find my tastes contrary to his and that's fine. He can keep his Libertines/Babyshambles/Dirty Pretty Things and his Kaiser Chiefs, I won't be fighting him for tickets, and his dismissal of such things like Bruce Springsteen, Bjork and Cold War Kids means all the more chance at seeing them for me. Doesn't mean either of us is right or wrong.

Just remember, whoever is driving controls the car cd player!

i love that jpg, what is it? and i'm thinking you're a much better boyfriend than i am. i would never go to "industrial electronica" for kenny. i'd be a right cunt and spend the entire evening taking the piss and we'd all be miserable. and of course kenny would never go on his own which of course i would do to something i wanted to see and have done often. did you boys get the box reissue of the first 3 bee gees records? rocking my world right now. off to give the kids some learnin'! xo kb

Why, it's some chalk and some cheese, obviously!

yeah, but who made the image? i thought it was sculpture and wondering who made it...

just okay here. having a bit of a rough time with one of my art relationships. long story but someone i love a lot has been treating me very poorly and for no good reason and i'm really gutted. trying to move on... miss you, xo kb

It's just some image I found on Google images by typing in chalk and cheese (there was an awful lot of crap to sift through to find it).

Sorry to hear about the art front. You always know where we are if you want a chat

A
